The 2018 Games were a wild adventure full of smiles and some disappointment for our NYSEF alums. Will Rhoads placed 9th in the team event and 46th in the Men’s Normal Hill Ski Jumping Competition.

Just after the Games began, Tommy Biesemeyer suffered a crash in downhill training that caused him to leave Pyeongchang early and head back to the States for surgery. A heart-breaking setback – we are thinking of Tommy and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Kevin Drury was hot in the Ski Cross heats and made it to the final! Although he took a tumble, Kevin still placed 4th – pretty solid for his first Olympic event – congrats Kevin!

Throughout the two weeks, events moved around and were pushed back that disrupted some athletes performing at their best. Although Andrew Weibrecht started the Super G event and had several great turns, he was unable to finish the event.

Biathletes, Lowell Bailey and Tim Burke had a great team finish placing 6th in the team relay on Friday, February 23.

Congrats to all athletes that qualified and participated – we wish all the athletes safe travels back home!
